This Yorkshire Seaside Village Named One of The Prettiest In The UK

Yorkshire village, picturesque? Of course! And, no Yorkshire village is as beautiful as the coastal village of Robin Hood’s Bay in the North York Moors. And we aren’t the only ones who think so – as it’s been named in the UK’s top ten prettiest.

The village of Robin Hood’s Bay is found on the Yorkshire Coast and is an old fishing village. Its red-tiled roofs make for the most idyllic sight as you approach along the Cleveland Way. The village managed to be named fourth place out of 160 locations in a survey conducted by FBM Holidays back in 2021.

Top 10 prettiest villages in the UK:

  1. Castle Combe, Cotswolds, Wiltshire

Over the years it has featured in many lists of the most beautiful places and it’s easy to see why when you visit. You’re greeted by stunning coastal views on approach from the top of the hill, and it only gets better as you head down into it via a very steep hill. You can then explore the labyrinth of cobbled paths that wind through the quaint cottages.

The beach at Robin Hood’s Bay is great for rock pooling and searching for marine life – also great for your pooches as well. Work your way down to the beach where you can enjoy a walk along the coast before turning around and enjoying the view from below.

Head back up into the village and visit one of its many beautiful restaurants, pubs and old-fashioned shops. It’s small in size but has plenty on offer to keep you entertained for a perfect day trip.

Our favourite pub to visit is the Laurel Inn, aptly named as a laurel tree sits out front. Inside it’s got all the quaint tropes that you’d expect from an old pub with its wood beams and blazing fire, which makes for the perfect place to park up for a few hours when the wind is blowing a gale outside or a return from an autumn walk.
