As of November, there are 76 cities in the UK and 55 in England and three Yorkshire cities were included in Comparethemarket‘s top 10 most desired cities to live in the UK.
Bradford was ranked the highest in 5th place, with Leeds in 6th place and Sheffield in 8th place. beating the Yorkshire cities to the top spot were London, Manchester and Birmingham, which came first, second and third respectively.
The home insurance company came to the conclusion by analysing the most sought-after locations on Google by people looking to relocate.
The list is based on the search volume of phrases connected to living and relocating to a certain area over the course of the year between December 2021 and November 2022.
Bradford came in 5th with 13k searches, which is interesting as it was placed 10th in the yearly ilivehere.co.uk worst places to live survey, showing how subjective these things are.

Bradford is set to be the city of culture in 2025, so we expect big things from the city in the coming years – this could possibly be why people are searching for it in the last year.
In 6th place is a Yorkshire cosmopolitan city, Leeds, with 13k searching and the country’s greenest city Sheffield in 18th place with just shy of 12k searches.
Using the average yearly global search volume, they revealed three Yorkshire Cities named in the top 10 most desired cities.
