Not surprising to us Yorkshire folk, but one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful market towns has gone viral on social media platform TikTok. TikTok overtook Google to become the most popular website recently, so it’s not surprising a video like this has managed to pull in such numbers.
Travel blogger on the social media platform Alievskaya.uk, or Jenny, is a Russian-born and enjoys sharing her experiences travelling around the UK.
A video she made of her visit to the historic market town of Knaresborough recently went viral with over 1.1 million views on the video. It has also raked in 100k likes and nearly 2,000 comments. Knaresborough is like Yorkshire’s answer to Venice sitting next to the River Nidd with its beautiful viaduct.
In the clip, Jenny captures the viaduct in all its beauty as well as heading closer to the iconic structure as a train passes across it with the caption Jenny “This place in England is so beautiful I almost can’t believe it’s real.”
Many users on the platform are throwing people off the scent of one of Yorkshire’s hidden gems by naming other places to send them to. One person wrote: “For our any of our American friends, this place is called Luton and is absolutely incredible.”
Another wrote: “Ahhh Slough I miss it so much <3”
A third wrote: “This is birmingham for my American tourists 😙”
Jenny has over 60k followers and has had videos viewed nearly 3 million times. If you’d like to check out any more of her videos, why not follower her TikTok channel here.
