Storm Franklin has hit Yorkshire hard with vast parts of the county flooded. And, now North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has shared some images of ponies stranded in floodwater due to the storm.
The photographs show two ponies stuck due to rising water levels in a field near Byram, Selby in North Yorkshire. The animals were rescued by the heroic North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue who took the animals to safety.

Yorkshire Live has reported that there are 86 flood alerts across Yorkshire.
Posting on its Twitter, the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue wrote: “#Tadcaster Fire crews rescued some horses stuck in flood water. All horses now safe and well.”

The water levels in the images are shown to be almost the waist height of the rescue team, who managed to save the ponies in time.

Elsewhere fire crews have been pumping flood water away from properties over Yorkshire.
