James Corden has made the news today after his called ‘abusive’ behaviour towards a member of staff, and now a video of him being called out by Yorkshireman, Sir Patrick Stewart has gone viral on Twitter as a result
The Gavin & Stacey co-creator whose beloved character Smithy is a fan favourite amongst most households across the UK as he was called a “tiny cretin of a man” and the “most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers” by Keith McNally, the manager of Balthazar, a French restaurant in SoHo.
The manager wrote: “I don’t often 86 a customer [an industry term for refusing to serve someone]… today I 86’d Corden. It did not make me laugh.”
Corden was apparently “extremely nasty” to a member of staff, and yelled “like crazy” at another because the delivered an egg yolk omelette to his wife with some white still in it.
And now Patrick Stewart is trending on Twitter because of a clip of him calling out James Corden for allegedly being unprofessional at an awards ceremony – and Corden not quite taking it very well.
During the 2010 Glamour Awards, Patrick Stewart surprisingly poked fun at James Corden while presenting an award together. The Huddersfield-born star called out Corden for his alleged disinterested onstage attitude and said:
Stewart says:” “When the presenters are up here and when the recipients are receiving their rewards don’t stand at the back of the stage with your hands in your pockets looking around as though you wished you were anywhere but here.”
To which Corden replies: ““Oh! You couldn’t be more wrong, sir. You couldn’t be more wrong. Genuinely. And if it looked like that, I’m so sorry. But when you come up and present an award, just f***ing get on with it.”
The situation intensified further after Stewart made a remark about Corden’s weight: ““From where I was sitting, I can see your belly, and that was there over at the back of the room.”
With Corden snapping back: “You can see my belly, and we can all see you dying [on stage] right now. Let’s go for it.”
