Last night the BBC have aired the second series of the award-winning drama Time series, which features Yorkshire’s own Jodie Whittaker, alongside Bella Ramsey, Siobhan Finneran, and Tamara Lawrence. Some absolute powerhouses of British female actors.
And, Whittaker, who finished her stint as the doctor in Doctor Who, plays the lead along with Tamara Lawrance from Silent Witness and Bella Ramsay from Game of Thrones and The Last of Us. Viewers were raving about the first episode last night. Some even said it weas better then the first series, which one Sean Bean a BAFTA.
The series was renewed for a second series back in March 2022. The original three-part series followed Mark Cobden, played by Bean, and Eric Mcnally, played by Graham, and their lives within the UK prison system.
The first series of Time saw Yorkshire-legend, Sean Bean and Stephen Graham playing prisoner and prison guard helping make Jimmy McGovern’s show a BAFTA award-winning series – and in turn putting huge expectation on series two.
This series story will tell the story of three more inmates’ through Whittaker and the rest of the gang taking place inside a women’s prison, Carlingford Prison. And, is apparently must-see tele. We missed it last night, but we’ll be catching up on it tonight.
