Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival, Named ‘Best There Is’ by James Martin, Cancelled

The popular Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival has been cancelled after the firm who runs it has gone into liquidation. The event attracts over 30,000 visitors each year and was set to host James Martin, Chesney Hawkes and Blue at this year.

B3 Ltd has ceased trading with immediate effect meaning the three-day festival has been cancelled, currently. They released a statement stating: “Unless an interested party comes forward to resurrect the festival unfortunately the event in July will not take place. Customers are encouraged to check with their credit or debit card providers if they can claim a refund by making a chargeback request on their purchase.”

The event takes place at Funkirk Farm near Skipton and has done since 2015. It’s quickly become the largest food and drink festival in the UK, so here’s hoping some company can come in and save it.

Speaking about the event last year James Martin, Yorkshire Chef and TV presenter, said: “Why should you come to the Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival? Quite simply, it is the best food festival there is. I’ve been doing this festival since it started… and it is phenomenal. It is a privilege to be part of it. We’ve got a Big Top and amazing kitchen and people love it. It is the best!”

It was a firm favourite for the Hairy Biker’s Si King and Dave Myers, who passed away earlier this year. King said: “Both me and Dave have been involved since its inception when the very first Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival was in the Skipton cattle market, and it was brilliant!”

Fingers crossed the Yorkshire food festival is saved.
