orkshire’s own Reece Shearsmith will appear in a Halloween special of Prime Video’s LOL: Last One Laughing, alongside a group of familiar faces, all trying to keep a straight face.
A new trailer has been released for the one-off Halloween edition, which introduces a new rule. Presenter Jimmy Carr and his assistant, Roisin Conaty, explain: “Don’t laugh, don’t scream.” This means the contestants not only have to keep a straight face while surrounded by some of the best comedians and actors in the country, but also remember not to scream as things go bump in the night.
Tom Allen, Jack Dee and Phil Wang will join returning contestants Lou Sanders, Harriet Dyer and Daisy May Cooper. Joining them is Hull-born Reece Shearsmith, completing the announced cast.
For those who haven’t watched LOL: Last One Laughing UK, the rules are simple: the comedians have to make the others laugh while avoiding laughing themselves. If they crack a smile or burst out laughing, they’re at risk of being knocked out. They’ll also face comedy cameos and unexpected twists along the way.
Another Yorkshire entertainer, Bob Mortimer, who won the first series and appeared to defend his crown in the second, recently took home the BAFTA Television Award for Entertainment Performance at the 2026 ceremony for LOL: Last One Laughing UK. He also went on to win the first series itself.
The new Halloween special will air on Prime Video from 23 October. You can catch up on previous series of LOL: Last One Laughing UK on Prime Video here.
