In one of the first controversies of 2020 (we’ll just breeze past World War 3 for a minute, shall we?), Bird’s Eye has successfully blown the tiny minds of the internet and revealed a brand new way to cook their famous, nostalgia-filled potato waffles.
You’re probably thinking why would anyone not just whack it in the oven or under the grill for 20, but Bird’s Eye took to Twitter just yesterday to shake things up a bit with this new ~alternative and super cool~ cooking method.
“Gu on then”, I hear you say, “tell us this bloody new way of cooking ’em”…
In the toaster.
Now if you’re anything like me and can’t stand waiting for your grub to be cooked, you probably knew this already since it is the tried and tested quicker cooking method, but apparently 65% of Bird’s Eye’s Twitter followers had absolutely no idea. Poor souls.
If you’ve been wasting precious scranning time on cooking your waffles in the oven for 20 minutes, you can now rest assured that a couple of minutes in the toaster on the highest setting will have you enjoying your delicious albeit childlike tea in no time – with Bird’s Eye even going as far as to add it as an official cooking method on the packaging.
The frozen food giants recently spent 103 hours testing the method on over 3,000 waffles, and Twitter has reacted exactly as you’d imagine.
