Britain’s Most Luxurious Train Makes Rare Visit To Yorkshire Station

Hull is set to be visited by the UK’s most glamorous train. The 1930s Pullman-style Northern Belle is making a rare appearance as it takes passengers on a luxurious journey to the award-winning whisky distillery in Llandudno.

The vintage train’s trip is part of the Orient Express group and sold out in record time with tickets costing £500. Although you won’t be able to get tickets, you can see the vintage train as it sets out on its journey from Hull to Wales via York and Leeds.

Those travelling on the posh train journey will enjoy a champagne brunch on their way to Llandudno, with a gourmet six-course dinner on the way home, according to HullLive. A spokesman said: “This will be our first visit to the Penderyn distillery, which claims to be the home of Welsh whisky and has produced several award-winning single malts.”

As well as the Welsh whisky visit passengers can alternatively choose to visit the Conwy Castle, built between 1283 and 1287, gaining an insight into Medieval life. They will also have a chance to explore the seaside resort, if they wish.

If this sounds like a bit of you then the Northern Belle will be returning to Hull on Saturday 31st August for a visiting across the Settle-Carlisle line, and again for a trip to Edinburgh in November – not returning until July next year.

Fares start at £295 and you can find out more via the Northern Belle website here.

What’s it like travelling on a luxury train?

We got a taste of what it was like to travel on one of these fantastic luxury train experiences when we visited Grosmont for the Pullman Dining experience. we enjoyed a three course meal whilst passing across the North York Moors taking in beautiful countryside scenery. The experience allowed us to chill in a vintage carriage, sipping on a drink whilst taking in views. It took around three hours and was an experience that we’ll keep with us for a long time.
