SANTA’S COMING… I KNOW HIM! Christmas is almost upon us! The Christmas Markets have started being announced and a channel playing Christmas movies 24 hours a day is coming this month. The festive period would not be complete without the classic Christmas film, Elf. This year you can enjoy everyone’s favourite elf on stage at the Grand Opera House, York.
From the producers, who brought SHREK, The Sound of Music, Ghost: The Musical and many more West End and Broadway titles to the Grand Opera House York, this festive show is definitely not one to be missed.
The musical will be based on the Jon Faverau masterpiece from 2003 that featured comic genius Will Farell. For those that haven’t seen it, it is a hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole.
Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Elf: The Musical will feature songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).
The sohw will run from Thu 25 Nov – Fri 3 Dec 2021and tickets are available from £13. This is one for the calendar for sure, be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. If you’d like to see Elf grace the stage then get your tickets here.
