It was announced early last year that the original cast was coming together for a new series of Full Monty, a classic British film set in Sheffield from the 90s.
And now Disney+ has finally released first-look images from the new series, which is set to pick up 25 years later still in Sheffield, otherwise known as the steel city.
It promises the same “chaotic entourage of children, grandchildren, pets, and assorted hangers-on” from the 1996 classic Yorkshire film, which won a BAFTA Award for best film.
Robert Carlyle is set to reprise his role as Gaz alongside Mark Addy, Robert Carlyle, Lesley Sharp, Hugo Speer, Paul Barber, Steve Huison, Wim Snape, and Tom Wilkinson who will all return as their respective characters – all of which have gone on to have illustrious careers in the business after the 1997 hit film.

The new spin-off aims to ‘mimic the original, according to Simon Beaufoy. Speaking to Radio Time he said: “I’m no fan of sequels… It’s coming through a different gateway into their lives, when they’ve got children grandchildren.
“The original movie came out of anger at what was happening to the country – the post-industrial hollowing out of those big northern cities. It occurred to me I was feeling the same fury again, but it’s arguably worse because it’s invisible.”
The show is also set to introduce the original character’s children and grandchildren, welcoming a new cast into the Full Monty universe, while Beaufoy has written the series with Trust’s Alice Nutter.
