TV has released the first trailer for its upcoming heist thriller Fraud, starring Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker. The six-part series, set to air this autumn, introduces Jones as Bert and Whittaker as Sam – two women with a complicated history who reunite to pull off a daring art theft in Spain’s biggest gallery.
According to ITV’s synopsis, Fraud follows Bert and Sam as their intertwined past resurfaces in Southern Spain after a decade apart. Sam is living a quiet, low-profile life, until Bert’s release from a Spanish prison on compassionate grounds reignites old tensions—and a shared ambition for one final, multi-million-pound heist.

The series promises high-stakes drama, with both Jones and Whittaker – acclaimed for their powerful performances in Gentleman Jack and Doctor Who respectively – bringing intensity to the screen.
Fraud is directed by Giulia Gandini (The Split, Shetland) and produced by Pat Tookey-Dickson (Maryland, 1899, Ghosts). The series was co-created by Suranne Jones and Anne-Marie O’Connor, with O’Connor (Maryland) also on writing duties.
Both leading actors share a strong connection to Yorkshire. Jodie Whittaker hails from Huddersfield, while Suranne Jones played Anne Lister in Sally Wainwright’s Gentleman Jack, a role that brought to life the iconic Yorkshire diarist and landowner.
Fraud will air on ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
