Five top Yorkshire restaurants have featured in the top 1,000 restaurants across the world. Launched back in Paris in 2015, La Liste’s annual list of the best restaurants and hotels for you to visit is the absolute bucket list for those with jet setter foodies out there. And out of those 1,000 2026 top 1,000 restaurants in the world, little ol’ Yorkshire has managed to bag five spaces. That’s 0.5% of the whole list taken up by God’s Own Country. And, only 83 restaurants in the UK made the cut, so that’s even more astounding.
Based on compiling thousands of publications, guidebooks and online reviews, and analysing data from over 400 international sources, La Liste has unveiled 2026’s Top 1,000 World’s Best restaurants and created the ultimate guide for travellers seeking meaning, excellence and inspiration wherever they go.
Some of Yorkshire’s most well-known and iconic restaurants have made the cut. And, we are salivating just looking at the list.
Check out the five top restaurants in the world found in Yorkshire below:
Grantley Hall, Ripon

Grantley Hall, which scored 82.5% amongst La Liste’s best hotels in the world, and is also known as the most luxurious hotel in Yorkshire – and the only Yorkshire hotel to hold a Michelin Key – but it’s also home to its very own Michelin Star restaurant, too, which boasts chef patron Shaun Rankin at the helm.
Proud of his Yorkshire heritage, the restaurant puts its kitchen garden front and centre with its Taste of Home menu, with tons of flavourful homegrown produce on offer, paired with ingredients sourced from nearby farms. It’s food that’ll bring you right back down to Earth, after, of course, reaching Cloud Nine while dining.
The Black Swan, Olstead

The Black Swan at Oldstead scored 85%, located on the edge of the North York Moors, with talented chef Tommy Banks (once the youngest Michelin-starred chef in the country) at the helm of this culinary powerhouse.
It’s always been a real family affair at the venue, with a true passion for both food and hospitality running through the Banks family’s blood.
The menu most certainly doesn’t disappoint, either. Using ingredients grown and foraged on the family farm in Oldstead, the kitchen team makes every effort to bring flavour by the bucketload, with a concise tasting menu on offer providing the very best of Yorkshire – be it local fish, game and meats, or produce fermented, pickled or aged on-site. Every bite of food at a Tommy Banks venue is to be savoured.
Myse, Hovingham

Achieving a star last year, just months after opening, Myse scored 86.5%. It is tucked away in the sleepy village of Hovingham, right on the edge of the Howardian Hills.
Honing in on all that North Yorkshire has to offer, Myse puts a spotlight on small-scale producers, giving guests a true taste of God’s Own Country. There are moments of Yorkshire nostalgia throughout the menu (a key dish being the Yorkshire pudding lollipop), but one of the most exciting elements is how intimate each sitting feels.
Guests can watch the team at work in the open kitchen, with the kitchen team coming to the tables to talk you through each and every dish. The drink pairings, in particular, are a huge highlight, too – even the non-alcoholic ones. A friendly, Northern approach to the tasting menu.
The Angel at Hetton, Hetton

Found just a short drive out of Skipton in one of the most tranquil Yorkshire Dales villages, The Angel at Hetton is one of the true greats – and this is shown with the huge score of 88% in the La Liste’s 1,000 best restaurants.
The stunning 15th-century gastropub is like a tardis, on the outside, retaining its traditional Yorkshire stone, and on the inside, unfolding multiple bright, airy and ultra-modern dining rooms that transport you into Michael Wignall’s world. And boy, is that a great world to be in.
If there’s one thing to look out for, it’s Wignall’s extra special craftsmanship, which appears throughout his menus with unexpected works of art – including snacks that disguise themselves among decoration and combine flavours such as eel and chocolate. I won’t spoil anymore, because part of the fun here is the element of surprise (expect to ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ a lot).
Forge, Middleton Lodge Estate

The latest Yorkshire restaurant to receive a Michelin Star, Forge at Middleton Lodge gained 77.5% and promises a timeless tasting experience, with Jake Jones at the helm taking inspiration from Yorkshire through the seasons.
The Estate grows a lot of its own produce, featuring on both the six and ten-course tasting menus on offer. Nature is prominent here, with stunning, tranquil surroundings (including a stunning on-site spa) helping to connect diners with the produce.
