Oh, yes! Hull has joined the rest of the country’s cities with the introduction of Uber. It’s finally catching up with the likes of other Yorkshire cities like Sheffield and Leeds that have add the taxi app for sometime.
Hull City Council finally gave the green light for the global company to operate in the city as part of the lift company branching out to cities and towns in the UK. Back in June 2022, it was said that the app had been opened over 16,000 times in Hull city alone, proving that there was a need for it. Or, at least a want.
Now up and running, you’ll be able to picked up in and around the city, and delivered to your destination all at the click of a button. Isn’t technology great.
It’s yet to be seen how reliable the app will be in the area. Whether or not, you’ll be waiting for an Uber driver to show up in app, or just stood in the kebab shop with your cheesy chips ringing your parents for a lift home.

Uber did partner with Hull Cars back in 2022 allowing people to use the taxi service through the app getting you from point A to B.
For those that have not used Uber before, you simply need to download the app and sign up. You then just choose your destination like Hull Marina, and use the pin drop system to pick where you want picking up. An Uber driver will pick you up and take you to your destination with no fuss. It’s that easy.
We’ll definitely be using the app next time we visit the city, which as The Yorkshireman followers know is quite frequent. It’s just another step forward for a city that is quickly becoming a competitor with the likes of other Yorkshire cities for tourism.
