In April and May 2022, The Survivor, a large-scale puppet, will tour a number of locations along the Yorkshire Coast. The Survivor is a 5-metre tall sculpture that is a sight to behold while in motion and on a size rarely seen along our coast. She’ll stay in each location for several hours, enabling visitors to come and go as they like while watching her story evolve and taking in the sights.
In conjunction with Yorkshire Coast BID, Animated Objects creation will be touring the Yorkshire Coast. On Friday, May 6th, the Survivor will be in Bridlington South Beach, and on Saturday, May 7th, it will be in Scarborough South Bay.
‘The Odyssey – An Epic Adventure on the Yorkshire Coast’ is a Yorkshire Coast BID project, created and delivered by Animated Objects Theatre Company. She’ll arrive at the water’s edge around 9.30 a.m. and will rest on the beach as we create sand art around her throughout the morning.
Then, in the afternoon (about 1.15/1.30), she will stand and stroll along the beach before being met with spoken word, music, and the presentation of a welcome gift – a lovely patchwork blanket made by volunteers from all around the Yorkshire Coast.
If you missed her on the beaches, she’ll be traversing the entire length of the Yorkshire Coast on an open-top bus as part of Aura’s Odyssey on Sunday, May 8th.
