Iconic London Bakery To Open First Yorkshire Cafe In Harrogate

Harrogate is set to open Yorkshire’s first Gail’s bakery, as the fast expanding London cafe chain chooses the spa town for its debut in God’s Own Country.

Described as a premium bakery chain is ‘dedicated to craft of baking’ and has started its recruitment for the new Harrogate cafe.

Opening the first ever bakery in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005 after starting life as a wholesale business in the 90s, Gail’s has gone from strength to strength. There are now 170 bakery and coffee shops across n places such as London, Oxford, Brighton and further afield.

Gail’s Bakery sets its stall out as a high quality, mid-range experience with hand baked goods and natural ingredients, Harrogate Advertiser reports.

Known for its sourdough bread, pastries and speciality coffees, it should fit right in among Harrogate’s town centre.

A GAIL’s spokesperson said: “GAIL’s is excited to confirm it is opening a new bakery in Harrogate later this year. The opening will bring GAIL’s craft baking to the community, including creating a number of craft baking, barista, and management roles.

“We will also be donating surplus baked goods through our Neighbourly partnerships. This is part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities we serve and improving access to quality food and drink on the high-street.”

It’s said to open in time for summer.
