The sun may be shining, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start dreaming of twinkling lights, festive treats, and magical winter wonderlands. And what better way to kickstart the Christmas countdown than with the return of Northern Lights Leeds, one of Yorkshire’s most enchanting holiday experiences…
After a hugely successful debut last year, Northern Lights is making its way back to the iconic Temple Newsam from 21st November to 31st December 2025, promising even more breathtaking illuminations, atmospheric music, and festive cheer. With over 100,000 visitors expected, it’s set to be one of the top Christmas events in the country.

The historic, Grade I-listed gardens of Temple Newsam will once again be transformed into a mile-long, paved wonderland. This year’s trail features brand-new installations, interactive zones, and bespoke musical compositions across more than 15 distinct illuminated areas, combining light, sound, and nature in a truly unforgettable way.
Hailed as a must-see on Yorkshire’s festive calendar, Northern Lights showcases the best in UK lighting design and audio artistry, with immersive storytelling woven into every glowing corner of the gardens. Think magical forest paths, colour-shifting sculptures, and light tunnels that feel like stepping into a dream.
The festive magic doesn’t stop there, visitors can enjoy vintage fairground rides, indulgent winter warmers like mulled wine, toasted marshmallows, and hot chocolate, plus the return of the popular Christmas village. Expect a mouthwatering range of food and drink from local artisanal street food vendors and festive bars, perfect for warming up after your stroll.

For 2025, the visitor experience is getting a major upgrade. Improvements include, a streamlined booking system to easily amend tickets, reduced capacity during peak hours for a more relaxed experience, neuro-inclusive sensory evenings with lower audio levels and limited visitor numbers, upgraded customer service, enhanced parking facilities, and more.
Roxy Robinson, director, From The Fields said: “We’re excited to be returning to the iconic Temple Newsam for Northern Lights 2025. We were blown away by the response from the Leeds community for our debut trail last year and we’ve been busy completely reimagining the magic for this year; with more groundbreaking audio-visual installations, more delicious artisanal food and drink in our Christmas Village and a whole series of behind-the-scenes enhancements building on last year’s successes. We can’t wait to share more!”

Tickets go on sale at 10am on 5th June, but you can sign up for pre-sale access now.
