‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ Series 5 Has Begun Filming

The Owen Family on Ravenseat Farm captured our hearts with their hit Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm – and even though series 4 is coming to an end there is no need to worry as Our Yorkshire Farm series 5 is already in the process of being filmed.

The channel announced earlier this year that they’d ordered 20 hour-long episodes of our favourite programme – eight of which made up series 4. This means we have 12 more episodes to enjoy from the Yorkshire Shepherdess and Renegade Pictures

The last episode of the series wasn’t aired due to the new drama Ann Boleyn taking its spot. It has been hinted by visitors Ravenseat Farm for cream tea have said that they’ve spotted film crews and Amanda Owen confirmed that they had begun filming according to Yorkshire Live.

It looks like there could be more than just one series to come from Yorkshire’s favourite shepherdess as Channel 5 announced they have signed a two-year deal with Wolfsong Media, Amand’s agent.

The Owen Family – which is made up of Amanda, her husband Clive and their 9 children and their show has provided the ointment that the nation has needed in good-natured entertainment over the past few years.

We’ve enjoyed watching them mature this series, especially seeing Clemmy interact with her pony and Reuben become so grown up!

Channel 5 discussed their top-rated programme earlier this year saying: “The series, which first aired in 2018, has garnered immense popularity over the years for its heart-warming and refreshingly honest portrayal of family life in the countryside.

“Viewers and critics have praised Amanda and Clive Owen’s unique parenting style as they raise their nine ‘free-range’ children on their 2,000-acre remote hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales.

“Our Yorkshire Farm demonstrates Channel 5’s continued commitment to the nations and regions, particularly in Yorkshire, where it has invested over £20m since 2015. The channel’s support for the regions is aligned with a substantial viewership outside of London, Yorkshire, North West, Border, and Eastern Regions of the UK.”

Daniel Pearl, commissioning editor at Channel 5 said: “Our Yorkshire Farm is such a special programme. It’s more than just a heart-warming documentary, it is a deeper exploration of family bonds, parenting styles and the desire among so many of us to live closer to nature. “

“The Owens are a true inspiration and I can’t wait to see what these next two years will bring.”

Jo Cantello, director of Wolfsong Media, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Channel 5 and the Renegade team again, who have documented the Owen’s unique story in such a captivating way this past five years. We’ve been overwhelmed by the public response to the series and look forward to watching life unfold on the farm over the coming episodes.”

We are unsure when the fifth series of Our Yorkshire Farm will air, but we will keep our ears to the ground. If you’d like to stay at the farm, you can stay in their Shepherd’s Hut, and take in those beautiful views that we see every episode on the hit Channel 5 show.

You can get the chance to meet the Yorkshire Shepherdess as well as many of your favourite Channel 5 faces at the festival this summer, ‘5 On The Farm’.
