People are cancelling their Prive Video subscriptions after it was reported the platform will cease creating shows with Jeremy Clarkson after his comments about Megham Markle in his article for The Sun.
The Top Gear presenter has been in hot water recently after his controversial comments that made the headlines.
He made a Game of Thrones reference to the Shame scene writing: “At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”
Clarkson has apologised for his actions in a social media post which you can read below:
It was reported by Variety that Prime Video would not be working is not expected to be working with Clarkson beyond the season two and three of Clarkson’s Farm and any remaining The Grand Tour specials.
Amazon confirmed some of this according to LADbible, saying that there will be the second series of Clarkson’s Farm airing on 10th February along with a planned third series.
Because of this news, some fans have decided to cancel their Prime subscription and have taken to social media to announce the news.
One person wrote: Ready to cancel my @PrimeVideo @awscloud @AmazonUK @amazon without @JeremyClarkson ,@thegrandtour and Clarkson’s farm there really is no point in having it. Everything else is available as a torrent. We pay to support the production of these shows.”
Another agreed writing: “@primevideouk until you sort out this shit cancel culture thing you have going on and decide to continue to work with @JeremyClarkson I’m cancelling my subscription. Everyone is allowed an opinion even if he was a bit of a nob.”
And a third commented: “So Amazon has dropped Jeremy Clarkson. Well, I’ve just cancelled my Amazon Prime account.”
