Sheffield’s Number One Pizza Place Is Coming To The City Centre

Sheffield food hall Kommune is getting a new addition next week, a Neopolitan pizza restaurant, Proove. With the first Proove restaurant opening in the ‘Steel City’ back in 2015, it will be a welcome addition to the happening food hall.

Kommune announced the news last week on Facebook saying: “We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that @proovepizza will join the Kommune family on Monday 17th of May!”.

The venue is in the heart of Sheffield city centre in a unique Grade II listed building. The space offers exciting opportunities to independent kitchens and traders, and Proove will be a welcome addition to the successful businesses already taking residence in Sheffield, Kommune.

Proove was created after founders Deepak Jaiswal and Rob Engledow visited Naples and were inspired by the amazing pizzas they’d tried. They then chose to bring the taste of Italy to Broomhill in Sheffield. They also have restaurants in Leeds and Manchester

The restaurant offers a range of toppings from the classic Margherita to others such as Americana, Carni and Bel Paese. They also offer up antipasti, nibbles and sides as well as vegan and vegetarian options.

Announcing the news on their Facebook, Proove wrote: “We’re coming to Kommune.

“We’re getting our pizza oven set up, our dough proved, and our top-quality ingredients at the ready, all in preparation for Monday 17th May!

Bringing all the authentic Neapolitan pizzas that we’re known for, and introducing our new small plates, we’ll have our full menu available and will be serving our food up fresh to you lovely people of Sheffield before you know it.”

The co-owners said: “With the aim to start cooking up some top-notch Neapolitan pizza from a permanent fixture, we acquired some wheels, took to the roads, and set to building a name for ourselves at outdoor events with our pop-up pizza oven.”

“Fast-forward a few years, and we’ve now got a couple of restaurants in some of the coolest cities of the UK, with more to come. Watch this space.”

We can’t wait to visit, and try it for ourselves. If you’d like to book visit their website here.
