Yorkshire has plenty of beautiful bars and restaurants to visit with fresh food on our doorstep it’s no surprise more and more Yorkshire venues are winning awards and these three Yorkshire restaurants have been flying the flag for Yorkshire at the Food Awards England 2022.
The Food Awards England 2022 has announced its winners and Yorkshire venues beat out thousands of restaurants, to take home their awards – so it’s a great achievement by all. Members of the general public with “eclectic gastronomic tastes” chose the winners.
Chef Jono at V&V found in Leeds took home the Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year award. The venue is located on New Briggate, Jono Hawthorne was a finalist on BBC’ Master Chef: the Professionals in 2020. His first solo venture serves up a Modern British fine dining tasting menu which has secured him the award.
Kiplings in Sowerby Bridge, which serves authentic Kashmiri as well as popular Pakistani and Indian dishes, won the Best Indian Establishment and Persian Cottage, in Middlesbrough, off Middlesbrough’s famous Linthorpe Road, cooks Iranian and Middle Eastern dishes and won Best World Cuisine.
Chef Jono at V&V posted on Facebook: “Bringing it home for Leeds last night. Thank you to everyone that has supported us, our guests, our supporters and of course, our team. We are truly humbled and proud of everything we have accomplished. Congratulations to all the winners last night.”
A Spokesperson for The Food Awards England, said: “These awards aim to thank those that work hard within the city’s food industry and contribute to making England a great gastronomic place to visit.
