The Leadmill has announced its last ever event before it closes its doors one last time later this month.
The iconic Sheffield music venue has attracted huge names over the years, with legends such as Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Oasis, The Strokes and many, many more gracing the stage over the years. After a lengthy legal battle against its landlord, Electric Group, The Leadmill will drop the curtain one last time on June 28th, with one last dance to mark the occasion.
Despite The Leadmill losing its appeal against the eviction, landlord Electric Group aims to continue the building’s legacy as a leading live music venue. More than 70 jobs are reported to be lost as a result of the club manager’s eviction. The Leadmill first opened its doors in 1980 and has become a national legend in the music scene over those 44 years.

The Electric Group plans to run the venue as a more ‘polished version’ in the future.
Announcing their final event, The Leadmill said: “After over four decades of unforgettable nights, historic gigs and a community that has stuck with us through it all, Saturday 28th June 2025 will be the final event held at The Leadmill.
“We will miss our home more than words can say, but this isn’t the end for us; it’s just a new chapter in our story and yours.”
The Last Dance will kick off at 11pm on June 28th, with resident DJ Adam Morley playing indie anthems, The Beat Club bringing disco, funk and soul, and heavy metal in the Little Rock Room.
Events planned after June 28th will be relocated to other local venues, with The Leadmill confirming that they will be in touch with ticket holders to confirm the new locations soon.
So long, old friend. It’s been a bloody good run.
