Well, there are four of Yorkshire’s villages that have been named in a list as some of the poshest in Great Britain. The Telegraph has compiled its annual list naming one in both East, West, South and North Yorkshire. Whether you’re looking to move to newer pastures, or just like having a neb at how the other half live, these villages are well worth a look.

East Yorkshire – Sutton Upon Derwent

Located on the edge of the East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire border, this picturesque village sees the River Derwent flowing through. The tiny village has a population of around 594, according to a 2011 census and is a stone’s throw from the North Yorkshire city of York. It offers a tranquil retreat from city and town life with the market town of Pocklington its closest. The average house price in Sutton Upon Derwent is £422,069, according to The Telegraph.
North Yorkshire – Kirkby Overblow

Found near Harrogate and Wetherby, this is another tiny village with a population of just 462 in the 2011 census. The village sits either side of a 400ft ridge, which forms the northern bank of the River Wharfe. It’s home to a traditional country pub, the Shoulder of Mutton – so you know it’s going to be full of all those little quirks that come from a quaint spot.vThe average house price, according to The Telegraph is £792,566.

South Yorkshire – Cawthorne

Found on the outskirts of Barnsley, Cawthorne used to be a centre of the iron and coal mining industry but is now part of the affluent commuter belt of Barnsley. The Sunday Times commented on “Cawthorne’s striking Victorian drinking fountain may have dried up, along with its promise of everlasting life, but this is still a place we’d happily spend eternity, surrounded by birdsong and cottages with front gardens bursting with colour. The average house price, according to The Telegraph, is £552,119.

West Yorkshire – Scarcroft

Over to West Yorkshire the on the outskirts of Leeds city is Scarcroft, which is also not too far from Wetherby. The village’s average house price is £688,344. The poshest village in West Yorkshire is known for its horse racing, with Hellwood Stables and the riding centre at Scarcroft Hall
Finally, the research also said that Scarcroft’s has a golf club, and pub – the Inn at Scarcroft, which dates back to 1852. These all help it ranks highly in regards to ‘posh appeal’.
