If you’re looking for a brunch spot with a view, Oliver’s on the Mount in Scarborough should be high on your list. Perched on Oliver’s Mount, the popular café boasts stunning views across Scarborough and the surrounding coastline, making it the perfect place to relax with a coffee, enjoy a leisurely brunch, or tuck into a hearty lunch.
The all-day menu is packed with tempting options, ranging from classic breakfasts and hot sandwiches to soups, cakes, and sweet treats. Even the drinks menu is impressive, featuring luxury hot chocolates and colourful speciality lattes that are almost too pretty to drink.
Of course, no visit would be complete without sampling some of the homemade bakes and cakes on offer, which line the counter and make choosing just one a real challenge. During our visit, we decided to try the cheesy beef brisket sandwich and one of Oliver’s indulgent French toast creations.
With visited a while ago, and on the menu then, the beef brisket sandwich proved to be a standout. Loaded with tender beef and plenty of melted cheese, it arrived with a pot of rich dipping gravy on the side. The portions were unmistakably Yorkshire-sized, and every bite was packed with flavour.
For something sweeter, we opted for the toffee apple French toast. The menu also features tempting combinations, including maple and bacon, chocolate and pistachio, ensuring there’s something for every sweet tooth.
Our French toast arrived topped with chunks of fudgy sweetness and accompanied by a pot of gooey toffee sauce to pour over the top. Rich, indulgent, and wonderfully comforting, it felt like the perfect way to start the day.
The menu changes throughout the year, with a current highlight looking like the steak sandwich served with peppercorn sauce, which sounds like a bit of me. Also on the menu are some fantastic burgers, from the OG to the Korean chicken.
Whether you’re stopping by for a full breakfast, a light lunch, coffee and cake, or simply to take in the spectacular views, Oliver’s on the Mount offers a memorable dining experience.
With delicious food, generous portions, and one of the best vantage points in Scarborough, it’s easy to see why this local favourite continues to draw visitors from across Yorkshire and beyond.
