This Yorkshire Chippy Is Serving Up Battered Sprouts – And We Don’t Know How To Feel

Christmas time is when restaurants and shops pull out all the stops to make sure that customers are left feeling festive with fun twists on classics and new and exciting products. And, when we heard about this new product we just had to shout about it.

A chippy in Yorkshire is serving up a range of festive deep-fried treats and one of them made us wonder if it’s a step too far. We’ve heard of deep-fried pizzas, deep-fried Mars Bars, but what about deep-fried Brussel sprouts? Well, they are a thing and now we NEED to try ’em.

Franks Fish and Chip shop in Mill Lane, Kirby near Pontefract has gone full festive with its menu this year and changed one of most people’s worst foods into a tasty deep-fried treat that we can’t wait to try.

To most people, Brussel sprouts can be quite bitter, but to others the sweet, nutty, and smoky flavours are a tasty treat. We are in the latter group and can’t wait to try a bag of battered Brussel Sprouts with some chips on our next visit to the chippy.

The Mill Lane fish & chip establishment also serves up battered chip butties, and if you’re looking for a tasty dessert they also serve up battered creme eggs – yum!

That’s not the only festive classic floating about this Christmas period! In Doncaster a chippy of the same name is also serving up battered chip butties, which have proven so popular, he’s put together a menu of festive classics to try.

If you don’t fancy a battered Brussel sprouts this chippy is serving up a range of festive treats can such as a battered Yorkshire pudding filled with chips, which sounds delicious.

He’s also selling battered deep-fried pigs in blankets, similar to those of another popular Yorkshire chip shop Papas Fish & Chips, who serve up a foot-long battered pig in a blanket each year.
