There’s nothing better than a nice drink in a picturesque beer garden – especially when its somewhere in God’s Own Country. And, three of our fabulous beer gardens have been named in the best beer gardens in England.
If you’re looking to get out and about this summer, and maybe enjoy a few drinks and some food in one of Yorkshire’s beautiful beer gardens you would do right to add these three spots to your list. Each has something unique to offer and deserves to be on any list.
We have our favourite beer gardens from across Yorkshire cities as well as its national parks Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors along with the Yorkshire coast – and the three selected by travel experts Big7Travel have featured in at least one of our lists before.

The list compiled by the travel company was created by using ranking system which they’ve developed along with reviews from their 2.5 million social media audience.

First in the list is a the lovely Gardeners Rest in Sheffield’s Neepsend. It’s described as a ‘proper pub’ and came in sixth place in the list of 25 of the best beer gardens. It sits overlooking the River Don and is a flower-filled labyrinth of picnic tables, veggies, sculptures and more.
Next on the list is the Leeds City Centre bar Water Land Boathouse, which sits on the banks of the River Aire with a fantastic view over Granary Wharf. The bar serves up a range of beers, wines, cocktails and spirits along with some tasty treats such as their sourdough pizzas, loaded burgers and sarnies.

And, last, but not least, the Pipe and Glass Inn in South Dalton came in 19th place. It’s located in East Yorkshire in the Yorkshire Wolds and is a Michelin star venue. The pub is a converted gatehouse of Dalton Park and has a stunning garden growing edible plants, herds and shrubs. It offers two outdoor spaces; one with bench eating out front and a terrace at the back in its stunning garden.
