Looking for some excitement this summer? Then you don’t want to miss out on this rip-roaring event coming to the Yorkshire Coast. The Soapbox Challenge is a fantastic event where teams build a cart to drive down the track in order to win.
Bridlington will host the Yorkshire Coast’s Super Soapbox Challenge and is set to return this Summer in Bridlington. The Soapbox Derby will see teams compete in creating a crazily designed soapbox that will hopefully be able to be driven.

Organisers are looking for teams of five to enter and build a cart. Each cart is rated on design flair, innovation, creativity and ‘driving skills’ which is a term used loosely. Whether you’re a group of mates, work colleagues all aiming to raise money for their chosen charity.
It could be a group of mates, colleagues from a local business who wish to brand their cart for their company or a local community group or charity who can race to raise vital funds for their cause.

This event will be heading over to Bridlington along South Marine Drive on Sunday 11th of September. Last year it was held at Filey seafront and had 20,000 head over to watch the high energy action.
Yorkshire Coast BID and one of its Directors, Martyn Coltman, said: “It’s great to be welcoming the Super Soapbox Challenge back to the Yorkshire Coast for the second year. Given its popularity last year, we can’t wait to be welcoming thousands of people to the Bridlington seafront.

“The event provides a perfect opportunity to not just raise funds for charity, but also bring together your colleagues or group of friends for a day you certainly won’t forget. We’re sure there’ll be a lot of thrills and spills along the way!”
Andrew Pearson, Event Marketing Director, said: “This is going to be a fantastic, fun-packed day for all the family. Gates are open at 10am and our mystery celebrity will be first down the ramp at 11am. Teams can sign up today at: https://supersoapboxchallenge.co.uk/bridlington/enter/ and everyone can also meet our favourite champion soapbox racer and mascot, Sir Sidney Cartalot.
“Over and above trophies for the top racers, entrants can compete for awards such as “Most Innovative Cart Design”, “Best Turned-out Soapbox crew” and even “Joker of the Day!”
