7 Yorkshire Restaurants Have Been Named In Top 100 In The UK For 2024

Seven restaurants in Yorkshire have earned a spot in the prestigious OpenTable Top 100 UK restaurants for the year 2023. Derived from an extensive analysis of over 1.2 million OpenTable diner reviews and various dining metrics such as diner ratings, the percentage of reservations made in advance, and five-star reviews, OpenTable’s list showcases the most favoured dining establishments of the year.

Among the featured establishments, seven noteworthy restaurants from Yorkshire have made it to the coveted list, representing various locations including the Yorkshire Dales, Ilkey, Sheffield, and Halifax. For the complete list of Yorkshire restaurants recognised in the Top 100, refer below.

Some highlights of the list included The Wensleydale Heifer, a traditional inn in the Yorkshire Dales village West Whitton, which is famous for its seafood along with a contemporary menu of British grub made with locally-sourced produce that are then utilised in the Heifer’s signature ‘keep it simple’ style.

Another Yorkshire restaurant featured on the list is The Hawthorn in the idyllic village of Haworth located in Bronte Country. It was named the best Sunday Roast in the UK last year. And, we’ve had it on our list of spots to try for time, but are yet to give it a go. They serve up gastropub grub using only the freshest seasonal British produce and its menu changes through the seasons.

The first two Michelin Starred restaurant outside of London for over 60 years, The Box Tree Restaurant in Ilkley is another grand choice. The quaint spot is a firm favourite of the area.

Other chilled spots includ Wood Fire Dine, an artisan pizzeria based in Yorkshire which is owned by award-winning chef mark Baber, who has been Pizza Chef of the year finalist 2019 and 2021. Enjoy hand stretched made pizza with an array of top notch toppings. In Sheffield Bench offers up chilled vibes with neighbourhood hangout offering communal bistro-style dining with seasonal dishes alongside cocktails, natural wine and beer.

Wood Fire Dine is an artisan pizzeria based in Yorkshire with bar area Vespers. Owned by award winning Chef Mark Baber Pizza chef of the year 2019 & Finalist for 2021. They pride themselves over their authentic hand making processes and commitment to quality and excellence. They started off as street food travelling across Yorkshire, however in 2017 they opened up a restaurant – they also offer takeaway.
