Another television show has chosen Yorkshire as a filming location. The new BBC thriller Boat Story has been filming in Halifax today and will be released on BBC and Amazon.

It’s a six-part series written by the writers of The Tourist, The Missing and Baptiste Harry and Jack Williams and will tell the story of two hard-up strangers, who stumble across a haul of cocaine on a shipwrecked boat and can’t believe their luck.

Film crews for the show were seen outside The Old Cock Pub in Halifax, West Yorkshire and it has also been announced that La Luna, in Westgate Arcade, will be shut tomorrow until 4.30pm for BBC thriller filming.

What is the plot for Boat Story?

As stated the two hard-up strangers agree to sell the haul of cocaine and split the money. They’re then dragged into a whole lot of trouble including police, masked hitmen and a big-time gangster.

Expect action as the two people’s lives are turned crazy with life on the edge. The boat promises twists and turns, suspense and more as two desperate people struggle to deal with the cards they’re dealt.

Tommy Bulfin, BBC Commissioning Editor, said: “Even by Jack and Harry’s remarkable standards, Boat Story is a hugely entertaining and fiendishly clever thriller that I know will have the nation desperate to know what’s coming next. And I cannot think of a more perfect cast to bring these fantastic characters to life – you’ll just have to wait and see which ones you can trust!”
