If you consider yourself a foodie, you’ll know that when it comes to the pinnacle of indulgence – it’s steak. And if there’s one cuisine that knows it better than any other – it’s Brazilian. Unassumingly located at Hull’s popular Kingswood retail park, Beleza is King when it comes to championing the Brazilian rodizio – an all-you-can-eat dining experience, where guests are served an array of grilled meats throughout the service. And it’s the perfect experience for steak lovers.
Upon stepping inside, we were greeted with slick, yet vibrant decor, featuring stylish nods to the rainforest throughout the restaurant. The restaurant is made up of booth and table seating throughout, with plenty of zones catering to all parties – from couples enjoying date night, to families celebrating together – all centred around one of the best parts of any rodizio, the salad bar.
It was such an energetic atmosphere coming through the doors, with friends, families and couples gathered, chatting and enjoying food – as servers buzzed around the restaurant with the one thing bringing the room together: the rodizio meats.
Guests can fill up at the salad bar throughout the meal as they choose, but for me, I make a beeline for it before I even flip my indicator – which, if you’re unfamiliar, is the card, block or lamp (in this case), that tells the team you’re ready for more meat.
At the salad bar, guests can fill their plates with a selection of pasta, couscous and veggies roasted in honey and other flavours, alongside charcuterie, potatoes, and salsas that pair perfectly with the meats. We particularly loved the peppers, roasted carrots and pasta – which we almost filled up on a little too much before getting stuck into the rodizio itself.
There are two options for guests at the rodizio – the standard menu and Wagyu – both of which offer unlimited, high-quality meats brought to you tableside. As steak lovers, though, we had to upgrade to the Wagyu menu.
If you’re into beef already, you’ll know that Wagyu is one of the most coveted meats in the world, thanks to its renowned marbling that results in the most tender beef. And Beleza is one of the only places in the UK that you can enjoy it as part of a rodizio experience, making it one of the most unique dining experiences in Hull.
Expect Wagyu picanha, fiery chilli beef, bottom sirloin, tender rump and bavette d’aloyau (to name a few beef options), alongside chicken thigh, classic Brazilian sausages, minted lamb, sticky honey pork and a very unexpected highlight, cinnamon pineapple. Every was succulent and cooked to perfection, particularly the picanha, and I’m genuinely still dreaming about the cinnamon pineapple to the day. Rodizio fans are right: never skip the pineapple.
