A Benidorm-Themed Bar Is Opening On The Yorkshire Coast This Weekend

It’s been quite some time since Brit-comedy Benidorm graced our screens, but it’ll be forever engrained as an iconic bit of culture – and is even set to be immortalised this weekend in Whitby.

Reopening as ‘Metunes Bar’, the former Met Lounge pays tribute to the show with its brand new concept, putting a spin on both its own name and the famous Neptunes Bar from the TV show.

Bringing together cabaret, karaoke, disco and bingo (AKA, all the cheesy things we love about being Brits abroad!), Metunes Bar – which opens today – is set to be “the place to be” for fun nights out in the coastal town.

In addition to acting as a night out and entertainment venue, Metunes Bar will also continue serving food, including sandwiches, breakfasts and cakes.

Metunes Bar opens today and will have Benidorm star Tim Healy in attendance, who played Les in the hit show. Craig Williams, who fans may know as the singer from Neptunes Bar, will also be getting involved in the fun, taking up a Thursday-Sunday residency at the bar every week.

Found just off the North Promenade, the bar is ideally located by Whitby Beach, and is just a short walk away from the Pavilion and other popular Whitby bars.

Metunes Bar opens at 12 noon-midnight daily, and you can find them at Argyle Rd, Whitby, YO21 3HU.
