Not to get the song in your head, but it’s been officially confirmed that ‘holidays are coming’, as Coca-Cola has confirmed that their famous red truck is returning to cities across the UK for Christmas 2023.
Travelling to a handful of cities annually, the now iconic Coca-Cola truck parks in busy shopping districts throughout November and December, offering free drinks to passersby, Santa meet-and-greets and plenty of photo opps for festive shoppers.
It’s become a yearly staple in the festive calendar, and Brits often credit their famous ‘holidays are coming’ advert as the official start of Christmas.
It’s been confirmed that the famous truck will visit Leeds a White Rose tomorrow (30th November) for games, giveaways and more. It will welcome visitors from midday until 8pm – so don’t miss out!
While the leading drinks brand is yet to make an official announcement about where the truck will visit this year, a spokesperson put fans out of their misery on social media just last weekend, saying: “We can confirm there will be a Truck Tour this year however our team are still finalizing the details so keep an eye on our socials for updates. Thanks The Coca-Cola Team.”
Truck Tour announcements are typically made just a few days before they visit a city, so if you want some free festive cheer, you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for announcements in your area.
Last year, Coca-Cola helped to raise funds for Fareshare with their tour, donating one meal to a person in need for every visitor who attended the truck. It’s currently unknown who Coca-Cola will partner with this year.
The truck also boasted tons of ‘winter market’ activities in 2022, including selfie opportunities, interactive games, food huts and more, so we can likely expect more fun in a similar vein for 2023.
Last year, the truck visited Leeds twice throughout the season, and Sheffield and Bradford once, so Yorkshire folk can rest assured we’ll see a Yorkshire appearance on the tour this year.
Here are dates currently confirmed for the 2023 Coca-Cola Christmas Truck tour:
- Glasgow – Friday 24 November at Silverburn Shopping Centre
- Edinburgh – Saturday 25 November at Fort Kinnaird Shopping Centre
- Leeds – Thursday 30 November at White Rose Shopping Centre
- Dublin – Thursday 30 November to Sunday 3 December at RDS Simmonscourt
- Belfast – Friday 8 December to Sunday 10 December at Titanic Slipway
The Coca Cola Christmas truck tour for 2023 will have 17 stops this year. This means there are 13 more still yet to be announced – and this includes eight new stops compared to last year. Hopefully some in Yorkshire as well.
