You Can Now Stay In A Cowboy Wagon In The Beautiful Haworth Countryside

With a list as long as my arm of unique stays in Yorkshire, it’s hard to believe we were missing anything. But it turns out we were wrong. Enter, Ponden Mill’s brand new Cowboy Wagon – a tranquil retreat that brings the Wild Wild West to one of West Yorkshire’s prettiest locations.

Made from an American-style covered wagon, the peaceful stay can be found down by the River Worth, with views out to Wuthering Heights (Top Withens) as soon as you step outside.

It’s a unique opportunity to do something a little different while taking in one of Yorkshire’s most inspirational sites, which famously served as the backdrop to many of the Brontë sister’s works (most notably, of course, Wuthering Heights).

Complete with a fire pit, a rustic private seating area, and a cosy double bed – the wagon provides a sense of serenity thanks to its quiet and isolated location, which is aside from Ponden Mill’s other camping areas and allows guests of the wagon to enjoy their very own slice of riverside beauty.

Guests can stargaze under the electric blanket provided on a clear night, listen to the river trickle past, or head off on an adventure across the stunning Brontë moors – which sits right on Ponden Mill’s doorstep – with Ponden Reservoir just a short stroll away for keen explorers to stumble upon.

And while guests are invited to use the amenities to cook should they wish, breakfast is fully taken care of – with coffee, tea and croissants delivered fresh every single morning.

During the stay, visitors are able to trek down the famous Pennine Way, check out Brontë waterfall or visit the historic village of Haworth, where you’ll find a number of lovely bars, restaurants and quirky shops (including a fantastic chocolate shop and old fashioned sweet shop!).

Just a short stroll away, the village’s main street has become one of the most Instagrammed spots in West Yorkshire thanks to its original cobbled street, limestone buildings and old fashioned pubs that are steeped in history.

Prices to stay in the wagon start at just £90 per night (including your complimentary breakfast), and guests will be able to take advantage of on-site facilities such as toilets, showers and an on-site cafe for hot grub, drinks and more. Find out more and book your stay here.

For those on the hunt for something equally as unique, Ponden Mill is also home to a stunning cabin placed right on top of a waterfall, where guests can enjoy being lulled to sleep by the peaceful trickle of the water as it passes to the river.
