Hairy Bikers Head To Yorkshire Tonight On New BBC Show

The Hairy Bikers are back with their new BBC show Go Local, which shows the pair Dave Myers and Si King as they pick the top restaurant in each region. And they’re heading to Drighlington in West Yorkshire in tonight’s episode.

That’s right. They’ll visit the team at Prashad restaurant as the synopsis for the episode reads: “Dave Myers and Si King go in search of great Yorkshire produce for vegetarian Indian restaurant Prashad in Drighlington on the outskirts of Leeds, coming away with mushrooms, rhubarbs and beetroot.

The Hairy Bikers Go Local series sees the welcome return of the pair since their last show The Hairy Bikers Go North, which saw them visit the Yorkshire food capital, Malton.

In the new series, the pair are looking for innovative local suppliers and top restaurants and Prasha is run by husband-and-wife team Bobby and Minal Patel and began over 30 years ago in Bradford.

In the episode, the Hairy Bikers source veggies mushrooms, rhubarbs and beetroots for Prashad, to make garlic mushroom pakoras, beetroot-stuffed paratha and for dessert rhubarb, rose and cardamom kulfi.

Posting on social media about the upcoming episode, the restaurant said: “Tonight is the night! It was a pleasure to have The Hairy Bikers Dave and Si in the Prashad kitchen, and for Minal and the team to cook up our tasting menu for them to enjoy.”

“Being able to share our Gujarati food with people is such a gift, and to have it recognised again, by two chefs we really admire, is a testament to the hard work of Minal and the team.”

You can watch the show on BBC Two when it airs at 8pm tonight (January 11). Or you can catch up on BBC iPlayer here.
