BBC’s ‘Happy Valley’ Beats Prince Harry’s ITV Interview In The Ratings By Over 1 Million Viewers

Happy Valley is the best thing of tele right now – hands down. And, Sally Wainright is a true master of TV drama. Add in Sarah Lancashire and there is no surprise that the BBC drama, Happy Valley ratings beat Prince Harry’s ITV interview on Sunday.

Unfortunately, there have been no slip-ups for those wanting to get a sneak peek early unlike last week’s Apple Store incident.

The Duke of Sussex was interviewed by Tom Brady giving out details about his relationship with others in the Royal Family but was unable to outdo the likes of Sergeant Catherine Cawood and Tommy Lee Royce in Sunday’s ratings.

The overnight figures showed that the BBC drama had 5.25 million viewers tuned in compared to 4.10 million for Harry’s ITV interview (one-third of the Oprah Winfrey interview back in March 2021).

Series three of Happy Valley was highly anticipated and episode two was an absolute treat as more revelation came out about Ryan’s involvement with Tommy Lee Royce.

The ending was one of the finest pieces of drama we’d ever seen with Sarah Lancashire portraying the West Yorkshire police officer Catherine Cawood as she confronts her sisters about goings on behind her back.

It was a pure delight to watch. And, we now have to wait patiently with the rest of the country for next week’s episode which will air at the same time of Sunday on BBC One.
