New Euro-Inspired Beer Hall ‘Largest Of Its Kind In The City’ Opening In Sheffield

Sheffield is set to welcome a new Euro-inspired beer hall and restaurant, which will be the largest of its kind in the city. Expect freshly imported tank beer, continental cuisine, and top-tier live entertainment—all in one massive space.

Located on Wellington Street, Kapital is the brainchild of the Sheffield-based team behind the award-winning Two Thirds Beer Co., located on Abbeydale Road. Known for its craft beers and German-themed street food, the new venture will cover 4,500 sq ft and boast the largest selection of European beers in the city centre.

The venue, Kapital, which is set to open Friday 27th June, will span two floors and will be situated in the £470m Heart of the City mixed-use development. The owners aim to bring the essence of Europe’s iconic beer halls to Sheffield, spotlighting the rich traditions and vibrant cultures of cities such as Brussels, Pilsen, Prague, and Munich.

There are 34 taps in total, offering beers from across Europe. Guests can enjoy names like Paulaner and Löwenbräu from Germany, and Belgian favourites such as Delirium and Kwak.

Four enormous stainless steel beer tanks filled with fresh, unpasteurized Budvar Czech lager will dominate the space. The beer will be transported directly from the brewery cellars in South Bohemia to Sheffield every week. The venue will also feature an outdoor beer garden, a full European-inspired food menu, including Oktoberfest-style roast chicken, award-winning bratwurst, Austrian schnitzel, slow-roast pork knuckle and cheese fondue and also a Sunday roast for the weekend.

Expect live music, with big bands, saxophones to DJ’s pumping out the tunes.

Kapital co-founder Ben Stubbs said: “After 18 months of dedicated planning and relentless hard work, we’re incredibly proud to finally announce our opening date. Kapital will bring something totally unique to our hometown of Sheffield, from tank-fresh Czech lager and weekly big band performances to a full-scale restaurant serving up modern beer hall classics and Sunday roasts. It will blend the best of European beer culture with a real sense of occasion, and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests and get the party started from Friday, 27th June.”
