If you’re looking for work, then you might be interest in Northern’s job opportunity as a train driver. They’re looking to hire across the North of England, hoping to entice people who haven’t considered a career in rail before.
There is no previous experience required, and if successful you can eventually earn £54,000 per year, following a 64-week training course with a starting salary during hte training period of £23,000. If you don’t fancy being a train driver, but want to work for Northern, you can become a conductor with starting wages of £22,000 rising to £29,000 after training.
There are plenty of jobs on offer with Northern looking to hire 300 train drivers and conductors, of which are 108 drivers and 198 conductors. If interested, you must be able to train in both Leeds and Manchester – and must finish the paid apprenticeship in one of these two training academies.
