In what can only be described as my ideal way to raise money for charity, this pub walk in East Yorkshire is taking place this month and it’s all in aid of charity. You’ll take in the beautiful scenery of Yorkshire whilst visiting some lovely pubs.
Organised by Dove House Hospice, this summer will see hikers take on the 12-mile pub walk in East Yorkshire, taking in land, shore, villages, and towns. Varied scenery accentuated with a lovely pint. The event is six pubs in 12 miles, meaning you’re having a nice refreshing beverage every two miles. And remember, it’s all in aid of charity.

The Pub to Pub Walk is set to take place on Saturday, August 10th. The walk is a circular route starting and finishing at the Humber Bridge Country Park in Hessle, which is a lovely leafy spot. The pubs included on the route are the Country Park Hotel, Hessle Foreshore; Duke of Cumberland, North Ferriby; Swan & Cygnet, Swanland; Wheatsheaf, Kirk Ella; and Darleys and the Marquis of Granby in Hessle.
Dan Clipson, senior fundraiser at Dove House, said: “We are delighted to launch the hospice’s first-ever Pub to Pub Walk. Support from the community is of huge importance to causes across Hull and East Yorkshire and it is hoped that the event raises thousands of pounds locally as walkers challenge themselves and have lots of fun at the same time.”
Charities signed up to take part are Dove House Hospice, Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University, RSPCA Hull and East Riding, Fitmums and Friends, aScEND Hull, and Aim Higher. Registration is £20 and each cause asks participants to raise at least £25 in additional sponsorship.
If you’d like to take part. You can register, indicate which charity you will be supporting in the dropdown box on your form. You’ll receive a t-shirt for you to wear and a medal upon completion.
