Popular TV chef Rick Stein is back with a new BBC series Rick Stein’s Food Stories, which follows him around different cities and counties across the UK sampling its local cuisine. And, he’s set to visit Yorkshire along the way.
The three-week series started yesterday containing 15 episodes sees him travel around the UK trying the best food in each locations including Leeds, Cumbria, Northern Ireland, Kent, Birmingham and Bristol. Rick then cooks a recipe he thinks you’ll enjoy recreating at home.
Speaking about the series Rick says: “Behind every dish there’s a story, big or small. From fish & chips to pad Thai noodles, from chicken tikka masala to square sausages in a bun for breakfast on the streets of Glasgow.

“The series is about my travels around Britain and Northern Ireland trying to get a handle on what is British cuisine today. Some of the nation’s favourite dishes are not traditional to these islands, the series is an attempt to show how exciting and varied what we like to eat in this country is today.”
In the Leeds episode, which airs tonight (28th February) he visits the popular restaurant Bundobust in Leeds a casual craft beer bar serving Indian street food menu amid bare brick and wooden benches and tables. Posting to social media the popular restaurant wrote: “Somehow managed to (mostly) keep this one a secret, but we recently got a visit from Rick Stein as part of his new Food Stories show, starting tonight on BBC Two! Little old us, on the same channel as legends like Paxman, Vic, Bob, and Sergeant Bash!!
“The Yorkshire episode airs 18:30 on the 28th Feb so we won’t spoil anything, but if you can’t wait until then to see what we got up to (not to mention some top notch archive footage of John Betjeman in @whitelocksalehouse)”
