A lot of us acquired furry friends over the lockdown period and now things have started opening up again, some of us would quite like to take our pets on holiday with us. The The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa is the perfect dog-friendly hotel to take your dog for a holiday and short break. They even offer your lil’ pooch its own four-poster bed – amazing!

The Devonshire Arms was built in the 17th century and came under the ownership of the 4th Duke of Devonshire in 1753 as part of the Bolton Abbey Estate. It is an award-winning 4-star country-style hotel & spa.

Most importantly, it treats your canines like royalty with a pet concierge at reception and blankets, bedding, bowls, spare leads and of course doggie four-poster bed in their room (we can’t mention it enough). Also after you’ve been out for a big old walk with your pup, there is an outside washing station for you to clean them up first.

As well as treating your pooch, this luxurious hotel boasts an award-winning restaurant, an adult-only spa, a gym and an indoor pool. When your not using those you and your pup have access to acres of off-road walks directly from the hotel where you can experience beautiful views, woods and riverside walks.

The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa has 40 rooms that are elegant and spacious with a seating area and flat-screen TV. They all offer varied yet beautiful views of The Dales, River Wharfe and Italian gardens. Their bathrooms are all super luxurious.

Whilst out on the estate you can try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, fly-fishing, and an outdoor tennis court, and enjoy falconry displays. Not fancy venturing outside the spa offers a luxurious spa featuring a sauna, steam room, swimming pool and whirlpool.

The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa 4AA Burlington Restaurant serves up a seasonal local produce menu as well as afternoon tea and a lounge bar. Their Brasserie offers guests a more modern gastro-menu featuring some of Yorkshire’s favourite dishes. Best of all you can dine with your pup (exclusions apply).
