A new bar and restaurant are opening up in The Heart of the City in Sheffield, and its Yorkshire-themed menu will be a welcome addition to the Steel City’s restaurant roster. Serving up Hendo’s pie and other delights, The Furnace in Sheffield is a new and exciting addition, and we can’t wait to have a taste of their amazing food & cocktails.
The Furnace announced their opening date as the 7th of June and displaying highlights of their beautiful menu via their social media channels. There are many highlights to their Yorkshire-themed menu such as a starter of Yorkshire Tea-smoked mackerel, which will be welcomed by brew-loving Yorkshire folk. Another one of their starters is a Yorkshire fishcake, which is a nod towards the classic fish & chips, everyone’s favourite Friday tea.
Their main menu carries on the nod to Yorkshire with its Steak, Potatoe and Henderson’s Relish Pie. We all know that a Sheffield restaurant wouldn’t be truly accepted without a bit of good ol’ Hendo’s. The one we can’t wait to try is their Yorkshire Pudding and vanilla ice cream dessert! Yes, we all know that Yorkshire puds are desserts as well – yummers. Wash all this down with a drink that’s a nod to Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys with a Mardy Rum Punch.
As well as these Yorkshire foods, The Furnace in Sheffield serve up some amazing creations like grilled chicken and chorizo kebab, Korean chicken burger and pot roast lamb shoulder.
Outside you and five friends can get cosy around their six-seater fire pit that overlooks the heart of the city. If you’re interested in visiting The Furnace, which has taken inspiration from the Steel Cit, you can find out more information from their website here.
