The remake of a Yorkshire classic is underway over 50 years after the original film hit the box office. Haworth has already been transported back in time for the set of the new film as one of The Railway Children Return Filming Locations.

‘The Railway Children Return’ stars, Jenny Agutter, Sheridan Smith and Tom Courtenay – and of course the star of the show God’s Own Country. The beautiful Haworth has been getting a makeover, although it doesn’t need much work to make it look old-fashioned, as the quaint town is one of the most beautiful untouched villages you’ve ever seen.

Keighley and Worth Valley Railway will once again play a key backdrop to the iconic children’s classic. UK Filmmaker Morgan Matthew is directing ‘The Railway Children Return’, and filming has begun around Yorkshire with the UK release date for 1st of April, 2022.
Danny Brocklehurst, who wrote ‘Brassic’ and ‘The Stranger’, has written the sequel inspired by the 1970s film. Changes can be seen in the village from these images, the popular village has been transformed into the old-fashioned scene with ye olde shop signs such as Red Lion pub, Oakworth Village Butchers, a Ladies Outfitters.

The film is described as “Inspired by one of the most beloved British family films of all time, ‘The Railway Children Return’ is an enchanting adventure for a new generation bringing a contemporary sensibility to a classic story and combining British cast with stunning locations.”
