Channel 5’s ‘The Yorkshire Vet’ Confirms New Series Is Coming This Month

The country’s most famous vets are set to hit our screens this month with the return of The Yorkshire Vet in series 15, which will see the return of Peter, Julian and the gang.

Airing early next week, new and old faces will be helping more animals in Yorkshire’s rural communities in the most feel-good docu-series on television.

The Yorkshire Vet series 15 will follow the gang as they work around the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales visiting clients old and new with the stunning backdrop of the Yorkshire countryside battling all weathers.

The original practice was that of Alf Wight OBE, otherwise known as James Herriot, the author of the All Creatures Great and Small novels.

Peter Wright discussed the new series saying: “I can’t quite believe that we are now in series 15. When we started, I didn’t think anyone would watch but we are now very much a firm favourite which is lovely.

“This series is great; the Greens are back and we have my pals Rob and Dave Nicholson, as well as our vets from Donaldson’s in Huddersfield, there’s something for everyone.”

Julian Norton said: “The Yorkshire Vet has become a staple viewing for many people since 2015 and reaching series 15 – and still going strong – feels like quite a landmark moment.”

The programme will premiere on Channel 5 on Tuesday, September 6 at 8:00 p.m. There will be about 12 episodes total, and each one will air once a week for a period of 12 weeks.

The Channel 5 vets are spread across four different practices across the country. Peter is using his 40 years of experience over at Grace Lane Vets in Kirbymoorside, his previous practice being the Skeldale Veterinary Centre.

Julian Norton, former partner of Peter at Skeldale, has opened a practice in Thirsk, with his wife Anne. Young vets Matt Smith, Shone Searson, David Melleneya and Rohin Aojula, are at Donaldson’s Vets practice in West Yorkshire caring for both domestic animals, farm animals and some more exotic ones.

The series will be narrated by actor Christopher Timothy, the original James Herriot actor in the OG series of All Creatures Great and Small.
