Yorkshire and stunning views go hand in hand. Whether you’re looking out to sea from one of our stunning coastal walks, or up a mountain visiting one of our National Parks. So, it’s no surprise when it crops up in a list of gorgeous views in Britain.

Sitting in a list with the likes of Scottish islands and the likes of Lake Windermere, the Yorkshire Dales, which features in the top 10 has some great company. The Lake District lake topped the list of Britain’s most beautiful views with 42% of the vote from 2,000 people who were asked to identify their favourite UK beauty spot. But, where did the Yorkshire Dales sit?

Perched in between St Michael’s Mount in Mount’s Bay, Cornwall, and Durdle Door, Dorset the Yorkshire Dales proudly represent the North coming in fifth place. Home to quaint villages, stunning rivers and waterfalls and amazing hill climbs, the Yorkshire Dales offers up some of the most fantastic views in Britain – and although we’d like the top spot, we’ll take fifth place (this time).

Garnering 22% of the vote, it was the Yorkshire Dales’ blend of wild moorlands, lush green valleys and striking limestone formations that spun it. Its iconic drystone walls, meadows and spectacular waterfalls make the scenery some of the most beautiful in the UK. The scenery of the Yorkshire Dales attracts visitors from all over the world, add it to your UK bucket list for your next road trip.

The list was compiled by car insurance company GoShorty who also asked its 2,000 respondents if they could identify the beauty spots locations. Many thought some were abroad with Ben Nevis being thought to be in Iceland, and the lavender fields of Snowshill in the Cotswolds were mistaken for Provence.
