Stanley Tucci was recently spotted at various locations across Yorkshire, and now we know why! Following the success of Tucci in Italy, Disney has announced a brand-new spin-off series from National Geographic called Tucci in Great Britain, coming soon to Disney+ and the National Geographic channel.
The new five-part docuseries will follow Hollywood star Stanley Tucci as he continues his culinary journey with an all-new chapter exploring his adopted homeland of Great Britain. And, judging by the number of Tucci sightings across Yorkshire, it looks like the county could feature heavily in the series.
The award-winning format is more than just a food and travel show. The episodes blend National Geographic’s world-class filmmaking with Tucci’s wit, charm, and genuine love of storytelling, as he explores the people, places, and traditions behind Britain’s food culture.
Having spent the past decade living in London, Tucci has developed a strong connection with the UK and is eager to celebrate, magnify, and challenge lingering perceptions of British cuisine. In the new series, he will showcase the country’s diverse food culture, uncovering the stories and traditions through the local legends he meets along the way.
Tucci said in a statement about the new show: “I am very excited to explore the history, culture, and people of Great Britain through the prism of food. Having made it my home for almost 15 years, I want to share the culinary diversity, richness, and depth of its food culture.”
Tom McDonald, executive vice president of National Geographic Content, added: “Stanley Tucci is one of a kind — smart, funny, authentic, passionate about food and culture, and deeply interested in the stories of the people who make the very best food. That’s why I’m so excited that his next journey will be around Great Britain, the place he has called home for over a decade.
“The stories that Stanley and his team have unearthed will be sure to delight and surprise — a reminder of just how varied and delicious food in the U.K. truly is.”
Elias Tanner, SVP of Strategy & Growth at OBB, added: “Tucci in Italy set the bar for how food storytelling can drive culture, and that’s exactly the kind of work OBB loves to create. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Stanley, Lottie, Tom, Nat Geo, and the whole team on this next chapter — exploring the often-misunderstood yet truly rich food culture of Great Britain, and how it has been uniquely shaped by its history and people.”
An exact release date for Tucci in Great Britain has not yet been announced. In the meantime, you can catch Tucci in Italy on Disney+ here.
