First Look Images For Grantley Hall’s New Country Pub Near The Yorkshire Dales

Grantley Hall has long been held in high regard here in Yorkshire. Known as one of the best hotels in the world, the stunning stately home opened as a hotel in 2019, garnering global acclaim and a Michelin Star in the years since, and now, the team has its eyes cast on the country pub realm.

Opening in the village next to Grantley Hall, Grantley Arms will open this Thursday, 14th August, putting a huge focus on exceptional dining for locals, visitors and Grantley Hall guests to enjoy. Chef Gavin Swift – currently Senior Sous Chef at Grantley Hall – has been appointed as Chef Patron for Grantley Hall’s new adventure, designing seasonal dishes with a twist on classic pub favourites.

Inside, visitors can expect a “sophisticated yet laid back setting” in keeping with the pub’s traditional bones, with the elegant touches that you’d expect from any extension of the high-end Grantley Hall.

Think cosy fireplaces and comfy corners, alongside a beautiful outdoor terrace encapsulated by the Yorkshire countryside. Offering a sophisticated yet laid-back setting that reflects the timeless character of a traditional village pub. Original fireplaces and ceiling beams take you back in time with a new rich palette of green, copper and natural wood, breathing life back into the old building.

New menu highlights include burrata with grilled peach, cucumber & mint; king prawn cocktail;
Yorkshire coast fish & chips; braised beef & ale pie with mash; North Sea fish pie with
mussels; and a selection of dishes from the grill, including Nidderdale lamb chops and honey
rose harissa chicken with tzatziki.

Gavin, who has been an integral part of the Grantley Hall culinary team since 2019, has been involved in every stage of the Grantley Arms transformation – from refurbishing the space to curate the team and develop the menu.

Speaking on his new role as Chef Patron at the Grantley Arms, he said: “It’s a real honour to be appointed Chef Patron at the Grantley Arms. I’ve been part of the Grantley Hall team for several years now, and I’m proud to bring everything we stand for – exceptional quality, local ingredients, and true Yorkshire hospitality – into a relaxed, countryside setting. I actually became a chef by accident, but my very first job was in a pub. So, it feels quite special to be returning to my roots, leading a pub we hope will become a true culinary destination”.

Grantley Hall’s Managing Director, Richard Sykes, previously said: “At Grantley Hall, warm hospitality is at the heart of everything we do – and that same spirit is what makes a truly great local pub. Grantley Arms is a proud new chapter for us, and one we’re incredibly excited to share with both our hotel guests and the local community. Whether it’s a leisurely lunch before check-in or a relaxed farewell meal after a stay, we see the pub as a natural extension of the Grantley experience – a place where quality, comfort and Yorkshire charm come together.”
