The major supermarket Morrisons has reduced the price of its afternoon tea for two to only £10 in its cafes in the run-up to Mother’s Day ensuring everything can enjoy an affordable and tasty treat in the midst of the cost of living crisis. The Morrisons Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea is just £5 per person.
It’s not the first time that Morrisons has done so with their ‘Henry’ campaign with Heinz beans across 397 Morrisons cafes which ensured 160,000 meals were available to the public. ensuring that anyone in need of a meal had access to something with a little bit of dignity as well.
Included in the afternoon tea offer is a range of sandwiches, cakes and fruit scones served with jam and clotted cream along with a pot of Yorkshire tea of course.
Not only do you get the essentials of an afternoon tea, but it is also served on a classic three-tier stand as in any posh cafe like Betty’s Tea Room or more. This means everyone can have a special day celebrating mothers across the country.
That’s not all! If you’d prefer to enjoy your afternoon tea in the comfort of your own home, then you can order for collection from the store at a date and time that suits you.
At £5 per person it’s a fraction of the price of any cafe, restaurant or hotel where you can expect to pay in the 30s, which is an absolute bargain.
The Morrisons Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea is usually £12.99, so a saving of £2.99, which ain’t half bad. There are also offers on other products with toasted fruit tea cakes for £1.29, crumpets for just £0.99 and hot drinks for £1.29.
Chris Strong, Morrisons Café buyer, says: “Treating mum shouldn’t cost the earth, that’s why we’re helping our customers by cutting the price of our popular afternoon tea for two just in time for Mother’s Day. Customers can spoil mum with a selection of tasty sandwiches, cakes and fruit scones for just £10 – we look forward to welcoming families into our cafés to celebrate.”
