Summer is here and with comes THOR’S Tipi’s return to York city centre! It has returned to Parliament Square and Principal Hotel gardens for its summer SOL AST. That’s twice the fun for York locals and tourists to enjoy!
In the city centre, you can enjoy THOR’s Tipi tiki amongst the hustle and bustle of the city, which opened up yesterday. They’re serving up relaxing tropical drinks like a frozen pornstar martini, and there will be DJ sets at the weekends, which you can enjoy next to their iconic fire pits. Sounds divine!
You can enjoy food from 6 street vendors, which include Yuzu Street Food and Sloppy’s burgers. Yuzu serves up a range of Asian inspired dishes such as bao buns, katsu fries and yummy Gyozas. There is also Stam & Marie’s Greek Food stand for all your gyro needs and a beautiful crepe truck for dessert!
Over at the Principal, at the SOl AST, they’ve created an Ibiza festival vibe with cabanas and bespoke Thor’s playlists with amazing food offerings such as Piri Piri chicken. You can enjoy the chilled laid back Meditteranean vibes with friends all summer.
Director of THOR’S tipi, Amanda Monaghan, said: “The Set-up of both THOR’S and SOL AST are the perfect mix of outdoor & indoor environments to help visitors relax and enjoy themselves in this unique moment in time. We cannot thank both Make It York and The Principal Hotel for all their support in helping us return this year.”
This past year has been tough for so many people and this is our chance to celebrate the important things – friends & love! We’ve been designing some exciting interiors for both sites, including new neon selfie walls, lush florals, beautiful lighting and bespoke seating areas. In true THOR’S style, there will be a big reveal in Parliament Street – and you’ll just have to wait until we open to find out more.”
Alex Hardcastle, THOR’S Mixologist and Chief Warrior, has said, “We’ve created a diverse menu for each bar, there’ll be some firm favourites alongside new concepts. After the year we’ve had we get the feeling people are wanting to push the boat out and really treat themselves, so we’re also introducing some Champagne & English Sparkling to the menu at SOL AST. And, of course, there” be our famous frozen cocktails in Parliament St… Including Pornstar Martini Slushy – If we can’t go to Cancun, we’ll bring the fun to York. “
