A Twinkling ‘Winter Garden’ With Fire Pits, Live Music & Festive Tipples Is Coming To Leeds

Despite the cancellation of this year’s Leeds Christkindelmarkt, not all hope is lost – as the beloved alpine bar, THOR’s Tipi, has announced its grand return to Leeds city centre this festive season.

Announcing a new concept called the ‘Winter Garden’, Leeds locals and visitors can enjoy not one, but two THOR’s sites this Christmas, which almost makes up for the Christkindelmarkt’s cancellation on its own.

Popping up at Victoria Gardens and on Briggate this year, guests can expect the usual festive antics that THOR’s have become nationally famed for, including shots on skis, boozy hot chocolates and all-around alpine vibes.

At Victoria Gardens, guests will be able to enjoy the classic THOR’s Tipi experience, escaping the cold inside a warming tipi filled with roaring fire pits, a fully stocked bar, and live music – with organisers promising that this year’s tipi is bigger and better than ever before.

At the new site on Briggate, THOR’s will offer a brand new experience – the Winter Garden – which will be housed inside a clear-walled tent glittered in twinkling fairy lights, alongside a ‘forest’ of glittering trees, cosy fire pits, and more. The Winter Garden experience will take place in Leeds only this year.

There, guests will, of course, be able to indulge in festive tipples such as boozy hot chocolates and mulled wine, and also enjoy a roster of live music with plenty of local bands bringing the good vibes.

The tipi’s promise to offer a great experience for all, with dogs and children welcome at both tents.

The festive season at THOR’s will kick off on Briggate on November 16th (11am-9pm daily) and at Victoria Gardens on November 18th (11am-10.30pm daily).

THOR’s will also pop-up at York‘s Principal Hotel for the festive season, too, offering a similar experience to Leeds’ Victoria Gardens tipi.
